2024 : Milford Track Group Mission

March last year, Wellington runner and legend Joe Benbow bought together a 24 strong contingent of trail runners to knock off the Milford Track in a single day. One year later, on the 24th of March 2024, we replicated this same mission in Joes honour.

Congrats Ben @gliderideandstride 🏅 Big Day Out Congrats Ben @gliderideandstride 🏅 Big Day Out at the @barefoottriathlonseries standard distance triathlon over the weekend, his first in five years!! And he’s still got it… finishing 8th overall. Check out his race report and reel @gliderideandstride including the video of the screaming descent down Paekākāriki Hill. Massive effort Ben and great to see you back competing in the Tri. A year ago I was hiking The Milford Track. We were A year ago I was hiking The Milford Track. We were so lucky to have had beautiful weather throughout the 4 Day Great Walk, but… low cloud on the morning of Day 3 meant my climb to Omanis/McKinnon Pass was viewless. The Memorial, which sits just a below the summit, boasts awe-inspiring panoramas that feature Lake Mintaro and the Clinton Canyon. I’ll just have to take their word for it…. 😂 Still it’s a special place and the exact spot chosen to feature on our limited edition Milford Track coin (swipe to see… better views on that one 😜) If you’ve completed the Milford Track (I hope you got blue skies!!!), or maybe you’re planning on doing so this season, this custom keepsake will honour your effort and give you something special to remember the adventure by! Well done 🥳🙌🏅 “Queenstown Marathon has always been a bucket list race, especially with its stunning scenery. I set myself this goal for Marathon number 5, especially to see if my body could still handle a marathon after my C-section. Overall race day was perfect conditions, and one 5 minute hold up at a single file bridge caused a delay. I’ve never cared about nutrition but this one I payed attention and that got me through the race, didn’t hit the wall. So happy with overall result considering this was the hardest marathon I had run. Highlight was also convincing my husband to do the marathon as well - he might be hooked 😂“ Gen @gensta.nz
