WHEN : Date TBC.

WHERE : Routeburn Track.

We are looking into the possibility of organising a Routeburn Track Group Trail Run and sharing the logistics of an otherwise tricky solo mission.

Track Distance : 33 km one way, point to point.

Starts : The Divide, Milford (approx 1 hour drive from Te Anau).

Extras : Potential side mission to The Key Summit near the Divide end start, through alpine wetland, offering views of the Darran Mountains and the Hollyford Valley. Also Conical Hill is a short, steep additional climb from the Harris Saddle, up a number of stairs to amazing views of the Hollyford Valley through to Lake McKerrow and beyond to Martins Bay and the Tasman Sea. Taking these side trips may be dependant on your pace and weather.

Finishes : Routeburn Shelter, Glenorchy then drive to Queenstown (approx 1 hour) or Te Anau (3 hours).

Elevation : approx. 1,400 meters Elev. Gain (Highest Point Harris Saddle/Tarahaka Whakatipu (1,255 m).

Seasonal Restrictions : late October – late April

Costs : Runners are responsible for their own organisation and costs of getting to and staying in Fiordland and/or Queenstown (eg. travel, accommodation, food, run gear etc). Runners are responsible for paying their share in the group costs and/or bookings relating to the Trail Run (eg. buses, group meals if applicable). We’ll help with local advise, organise and book the shared elements of the Trail Run, and planing timings and logistics only. The third party costs are TBC and will be divided based on numbers. There is no cost payable for joining the Group Run itself. Refunds and/or cancellations of these costs are dependant on the third party company T&C’s.
