Congrats Gen @gensta.nz on your Queenstown Marathon race and thanks for sharing the experience with us! Well done 🥳🙌🏅

“Queenstown Marathon has always been a bucket list race, especially with its stunning scenery.

I set myself this goal for Marathon number 5, especially to see if my body could still handle a marathon after my C-section.

Overall race day was perfect conditions, and one 5 minute hold up at a single file bridge caused a delay. I’ve never cared about nutrition but this one I payed attention and that got me through the race, didn’t hit the wall. So happy with overall result considering this was the hardest marathon I had run.

Highlight was also convincing my husband to do the marathon as well - he might be hooked 😂“

It’s been a tough start to the 2024/25 Great Wal

It’s been a tough start to the 2024/25 Great Walk season in Fiordland with deludes of rain, late abundant snow, high avalanche risks, road closures and track closures. Hoping all those that booked and came to experience the Kepler, Milford or Routeburn recently have still managed some epic adventures running and hiking in our backyard.

Good fun checking out the @arrowtownbackyardultra

Good fun checking out the @arrowtownbackyardultra this morning and cheering runners around their laps. In the absolute heart of the Arrowtown village, it was our first time at a Backyard Ultra and OMG are they not the chillest start/finish lines ever!!!???

Temps were getting high when we left early arvo. But there were still loads of smiles, some super epic crew teams, and some pretty slick setups to keep the runners going. And from the online race results, it looks like they’re doing well!

Now it’s 8pm and just over 100 (out of 150 starters at 9am) are about to start Lap 12. Go well team 🙌

Reckon we’ll be back in 2025… and not to spectate…. 🫣

They don’t call it the 4:50 Run Club for nothing

They don’t call it the 4:50 Run Club for nothing. Despite the longer daylight hours, these hardy lads are STILL up and running the Dunedin streets in the dark!

Baydon @baydonrun clearly not familiar with sleep-ins, or content with the already early 4:50am starts, often arrives a good 30min earlier for an extra warmup too. And while many others have stowed their headlamps and Noxgear Tracers away for the summer... Baydon continues to shine bright and glows colourfully on his VERY early morning runs.

Now the question is… will the Noxgear lights make it into December? Let’s see!

Absolute stunner of a day in Fiordland and was so good to be able to pop down to the lakefront, watch the riders come in, and take a few photos. Definately spotted a couple of bruised and banged up bodies afterwards but epic vibes 🐝 and a heck of a backdrop to chill out, enjoy the sun, and recover from the ride.

Well done everyone 🙌

P.S absolute machines, so great and inspiring to watch, but I’m in no hurry to trade in my running shoes for wheels… 🫣😂 #legends #TOS2024

Who’s following the Tour of Southland?? 🚴🏼
An epic 7 Stage Road Cycle Race in our Southland Region, Sunday 3rd to Saturday 9th November.

Today’s Stage 2 is from Invercargill to Lumsden. It’s going to be a tough ride, notorious for strong crosswinds, the forecast isn’t letting that reputation go… The 166km stage starts at 10am from the SIT Zero Fees Velodrome, finishing in Lumsden about 2.30pm. If you’re in the area keep an eye out (maybe check on road closures too).
